Mt Gravatt Mountain Summit

By Heather Wood Join Me

Starting at 8 am we will meet up the top of Mt Gravatt mountain and split in to groups.
Some people will join Mike Fox for a clean up of weeds on the mountain. Mike spends many hours a month doing volunteer work on the mountain and will have a site already earmarked for you to help him with. The Mt Gravatt environment group have been very successful with projects they have undertaken to date including planting out many endemic species and removing weed species.
Other clean up volunteers can walk the road, walk the trails or stay up the top of the mountain to collect rubbish. If you have children with you, they will not be allowed to walk the roads.
The largest amount of rubbish we have seen in recent years are smashed glass bottles and cigarette butts; so please bring along any tongs or protective gloves,
To get to the top of Mt Gravatt mountain take Shire Road (off Logan Road - there are signs) and follow that all the way to the top.
Please wear clothing suitable for this activity; long pants, long sleeves and sturdy closed in shoes.
Please also ensure you have a hat, sunscreen and a water bottle.
