Site Supervisor Award 2012

The Competition

Site Supervisors are vital to the Clean Up Australia Day campaign success and thanks to their support Clean Up Australia Day has gone from strength to strength over the last 22 years.

To celebrate this success and support, Clean Up Australia and the Qantas Foundation are asking Site Supervisors to tell us their story from the last 22 years. It could be their greatest achievement as a Site Supervisor, how they have seen attitudes change, or just simply their funniest or memorable experience.

One Site Supervisor who submits an entry and who has participated in 2012 Clean Up Australia Day will be selected to win a two airfares from one capital city in Australia to another courtesy of the Qantas Foundation.

For more information or to enter the Site Supervisor Award visit our Clean Up Australia Competitions Website.

2011 Site Supervisor Award Winner

Murad Khan, Marsden Park, NSW

Murad has been participating in Clean Up Australia Day for 11 years. In 2011 he coordinated nine sites around Australia (Cleanliness-Part of Faith NSW, Tapely Hills Road SA, Leisure Land Drive VIC, Jimboomba QLD, Mt Ainslie Lookout ACT, Regency Park Bushland QLD, Wilson Park WA, Stockleigh Road QLD, Rotary Park Cusack Lane QLD) with members in other states. Receiving 750 online volunteer registrations plus the registrations on the day, they removed over 15 tonnes of rubbish from the environment.

Murad's site in Sydney that covered 25 km of the roadway and parks/creek attracted the attention of eight newspapers and SBS Radio. He now wants to make 2012 even bigger and better.
