Year Round Clean Up

As well as participating in the flagship Clean Up Australia Day event held on the first Sunday in March, we encourage communities, schools and businesses to organise their own Clean Up Day events at any time of the year.

Clean Up Australia Day is fun, easy and everyone can get involved. Simply register a site you wish to Clean Up and we'll send you materials to assist you to help make the day a success (please allow 2 weeks for delivery). Please also note that the council may not be able to help with the removal of rubbish outside of the main Clean Up event.

You can also volunteer at an existing site.

Organising a Clean Up Site

Step 1 - Create a site
Select a site in your local area that you think needs a Clean Up. Please contact your local council to advise them of your Clean Up event. The council may be also able to assist you to identify a potential site. Register on our website by choosing Create a Site. 

Unfortunately our website doesn't hold information on registrations from previous years, so even if you have taken past before, you will need to enter all your details to ensure your site is fully registered.

Step 2 - Receive your Clean Up Kit
Once you have registered we will send you a Clean Up Kit containing everything you need for your event (please allow 2 weeks for delivery).  For information on what the kit contains and further resources available see here.

Step 3 - Promote your Clean Up site to attract volunteers
Read the site guide in your Clean Up kit for ideas on how to promote your site and download additional materials.

Step 4 - Preparation for your Clean Up event
Read the site guide in your Clean Up kit for information on how to prepare for your event and make sure conduct a site inspection beforehand, ensuring you have implemented any risk controls.

Have fun on the Day and don't forget to report back to Clean Up Australia on your site activities. Your feedback is important to us.
