Business Clean Up Day


Business Clean Up Day is designed for Australian businesses as a great opportunity to help improve the quality of the environment and work towards reducing waste - as well as being a great team building exercise. The 2010 event saw over 500 business sites registered; these businesses have demonstrated that taking environmental action also makes business sense.

If you are taking part as a group of people from a business, this is the day to take part in.

The next main Business Clean Up day will be in March 2011, however you can register your business to hold a Clean Up throughout the year.

 

How to get involved

There are two ways to get involved in Business Clean Up Day; by registering a site or becoming a Business Supporter

If you wish to register outside of Business Clean Up Day in March please follow the directions below.  Please contact us to find out what resources we are able to provide you with.  You will need to contact your local council about rubbish removal.

Register a Business Clean Up Site - $110 to cover Clean Up Kit cost

Step 1 - Create a site
Select a site in your local area that you think needs a Clean Up (local councils may be able to assist you to identify a potential site in your local area). Register on our website by choosing "Create a Site"

Please note that a registration fee of $110.00 (incl. GST) applies for businesses. This covers the cost of the Clean Up Kit which we will send you on completion of your registration.  You can pay by credit card when you register or we can email you an invoice.

The Business Clean Up Kit includes everything you need for your event and more:

- Rubbish and recycling bags- Gloves
- Sharps container- Site guide and safety information
- First aid kit (supplied by CBA)- Site coordinator bib
- Volunteer registration forms- End of Clean Up report
- Participation certificates- Posters to promote your event
- Stickers to remind employees of simple ways to be more environmentally friendly- 20th Anniversary Clean Up Australia recycled mouse mat
- Carbon Reduction Institute Office Recycling Policy- Mobile phone recycling satchels

Step 2 - Promote your Clean Up site to attract colleagues / employees
Read the site guide in your Clean Up kit for ideas on how to promote your site and download additional materials.           

Step 3 - Preparation for your Clean Up event
Read the site guide in your Clean Up kit for information on how to prepare for your event and make sure conduct a site inspection beforehand, ensuring you have implemented any risk controls.

Become a Business Supporter

As a Business Supporter your contribution will not only assist to provide invaluable resources to assist communities in their activity, but will also make an invaluable contribution to Clean Up Australia. 100% of all contributions received go towards the ongoing development and maintenance of Clean Up Australia's various environmental campaigns and initiatives. Clean Up Australia doesn't receive government funding, so your support really does make all the difference to our cause.

There are two tiers to becoming a Business Supporter:

Platinum - $1500
Benefits:

  • ½ Day Corporate Clean Up site (Clean Up Australia will help you to identify a suitable site)
  • Your company logo on the Clean Up website and hyperlink to your company website
  • Invitation for two representatives to attend a networking opportunity with Ian Kiernan AO (to be used within 12 months)
  • Clean Up Australia trophy to recognise your contribution
  • Business Clean Up kit containing everything you need to conduct a site Clean Up
  • Business Office kit containing thermos coffee mug, 20th Anniversary Clean Up Australia recycled mouse mat, recycling and environmental stickers for the office and Carbon Research Institute Office Recycling Policy

Platinum Business Supporters can register up to 6 Business Clean Up sites without having to pay the registration fee for each site.

Gold - $750
Benefits:

  • Your company logo on the supporter page of the Clean Up Australia website
  • Invitation for one representative to attend a networking opportunity with Ian Kiernan AO (to be used within 12 months)
  • Framed Certificate
  • Business Clean Up kit containing everything you need to conduct a site Clean Up
  • Business Office kit containing thermos coffee mug, 20th Anniversary Clean Up Australia recycled mouse mat, recycling and environmental stickers for the office and Carbon Research Institute Office Recycling Policy

 

Terms and Conditions of Business Supporter participation:
1. While efforts are made to arrange suitable times and dates for networking functions; details will be at the discretion of CUA.
2. All contributions are inclusive of GST.
