Business Clean Up Day

Being part of an Australian team is an opportunity of a lifetime. So why not give your team this chance and join Team Clean Up Australia. You and your company can help to create a cleaner environment by just spending an hour or two collecting litter in your local area or clean up your own office space and reduce waste.

We have two great examples how a park Clean Up and an office Clean Up can help to keep rubbish out of the environment and toxic e-waste out of landfill. Read our case studies.

Last year 337 businesses across Australia took part to help remove more than 16,000 tonnes of rubbish. Since then a lot has happened in Australia for the environment with more and more businesses embracing their opportunities to work within sustainable work practices.

We want to see this trend growing with more businesses getting involved in 2012 Business Clean Up Day.

So be a good sport and join the team for Business Clean Up Day on Tuesday 28 February.

How to get involved

1. Register a Business Clean Up Site

Select a location in your area that needs cleaning up or even green up your own office by recycling your e-waste. Follow these easy steps to get you started:

  • Register your Business Clean Up Site
  • Receive our Clean Up Kit (delivery takes up to two weeks. Please remember this when you register for 28 February)
  • Start organising your Clean Up. See our Checklist for some useful tipps.
  • Promote your Clean Up Site within your office to attract volunteers
  • Have fun on the Day.

We ask businesses to pay $150* in order to take part, which includes the Business Clean Up Kit and our new Clean Up Australia Business Circle on Linked. This excluisve group will receive useful information for a Business Clean Up and tipps on how easy it is to implement sustainable work practices in your office.  The group is by invite only, so check your inbox after you have registered a Site.

 2. Become a Business Supporter

If you can't get out on the Day, you can still do your part to improve your environment and support Clean Up Australia through our Business Supporters scheme. Engage your employees in cleaning up, fixing up and conserving your local environment and provide invaluable resources to assist communities with their own Clean Up activity. There are three levels of support, each with associated benefits.  As Clean Up Australia receives no government funding, this partnership will make a difference.
